Quelques termes liées à la parfumerie :

AFNOR
Abbreviation of “French Association of Normalization”. It establishes and publishes, among others, standards on essential oil.

Concentrate (To)
Increase the percentage of the nice-smelling elements in a fragrant product.

Fractionate (To)
To separate by distillation in various parts an essential oil or a synthetic product.

Identical Nature (I.N.)
Product obtained in laboratory by chemical reaction of two or several bodies which can be stemming from natural essence or from the other materials without visible report with the perfume shop themselves. It would be false to say or to think that all the synthetic products come purely and simply to supplant the natural products. They offer a wide range of findings smells in the nature or the unknowns of this one. For example the ionone which does not exist in the violet, but the smell of which it exhales however. Synthetic products enrich the palette of the creator of indispensable products and high qualities.

Transfer
We say about a perfume that it turned when its smell and its colour modified following physical actions, or chemical (oxidation) owed to the air, to the light, to the heat or to the ageing.
